'lil bit Rotten
'lil bit Rotten was born out of my then 18 month old daughter, who was spoiled rotten. For lack of selection, I began making her hair bows. Any time I took her out in public, she was gushed over. My typical response was "Thanks, she's a little bit rotten". She was. Still is ;)
Once I began having requests from friends for bows, that name just seemed to fit best. So, in Salt Lake City, if you bought bows at the farmers market from 'lil bit Rotten.... that was me!
Bows 2 Match (Bows ToMatch)
Due to facebook regs, I couldn't have a number in my name on my private page...
After my husband joined the Army I decided to put bows on hold. Being in a new state, I wasn't sure the competition, or need, for hair bows. I took about a year off from selling, and only made them for my daughter during this time. A few customers from SLC had been bugging me about selling online. I toyed with the idea for a good while.
When I decided to take the plunge, there were too many other boutiques with "rotten" in their names, and would make it harder for people to find me. Bows 2 (to) Match however.... was wide open. It was simple, to the point, hard to forget, and people knew exactly what to expect when they clicked on my page.
During the couple years as Bows 2 Match, I really refined my fabric flower making skills ;) The shabby posy was my #1 seller. I added the Corsage Cutie about a year ago, it seems to be my next favorite item. With all the flowery requests, it's left little or no time to make "bows". I've also found I have an increasing number of customers who are buying not for children, but for themselves.
The Shabby Posy
The Shabby Posy really evolved on it's own. It is still recognisable, and well known.... hopefully making it easier for people to know its still me! It allows a little more freedom for my products as I dabble into clothing, necklaces, and other accessories that really never fit into the bow category. It's more grown up, a bit more professional, yet it describes my style perfectly!
For those that have been on this journey with me since the beginning, I offer a huge thanks! It's been a fun ride, and I've learned so much. I've met great friends and made many partners in this crazy boutique world. If you're just finding me, Welcome! I love to chat and get to know people so make yourself at home here :)
It is my hope that there is no need for a name change in the future. I hope that I don't loose any of my wonderful customers in the switch. I'd love some input from you as consumers when it comes to new products and ideas.
